How do we do it?

WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL

Wisdom teeth, also known as “third molars,” are the last teeth to erupt, however most do not erupt completely or in the correct position. Most people simply do not have the space for these teeth, so it’s very common for wisdom teeth to remain “impacted,” or buried in the jawbone.

PROCEDURES AND EFFECTIVENESS

Why do I need my wisdom teeth removed?

Having wisdom teeth in wrong position or not having enough room for them in the mouth can lead to following complications

  • They can cause infection and swelling in the gum area around them.
  • They can lead to decay in teeth adjacent to it, due to constant food lodgement in the area.
  • They often get decayed just because they are so far back and are hard to reach for cleaning.
  • On rare occasions, impacted wisdom teeth can have cysts develop around them in the jaw bone.
  • They also can lead to bad breath.
  • Fever and swelling can often be the result of long-term inflammation around them
Is it Painful?

The procedure itself is painless but you can have some pain and discomfort afterwards, This can easily be managed with the over the counter pain medications.

How many appointments do I need?

On average 2 appointments.

We recommend coming for an x-ray assessment first, so your dentist can make sure that it’s safe to remove your wisdom tooth without complications.

You will then be made another appointment for the procedure to be done.
