What are crowns made of?
They can be made of various materials like porcelain, stainless steel, gold, porcelain fused to metal, zirconia, etc.

How many appointments would I need?
Usually, two appointments are needed for a crown, on the first appointment, your dentist will shape and prepare the tooth and will put a temporary crown on it. On the second visit, the permanent crown is cemented or bonded to the tooth.
Aftercare
While you have the temporary crown on avoid any hard or sticky foods, brush nicely around it but do not floss. After you have the permanent crown on, just wait for the numbness to wear off then you can resume your normal activities
