SPORTS MOUTH GUARDS

They are mouth pieces recommended to be worn during any contact sport that helps to protect your teeth from direct blows and impacts.

There are 3 types:

1. Stock made: they come in standard shapes and sizes and may not fit you very well, therefore do not provide the protection that is needed.
2. Boil and bite ones: these come in preformed shapes and then can be moulded to your teeth shape by boiling them and putting gin your mouth, they provide bite better protection but still not enough. They are easily available from the sports gear suppliers.
3. Custom made ones: They are made by your dental professional for you, they are custom made for your mouth and provide the optimum protection required, its far more superior than the boil and bite ones.

It is recommended to replace the mouth guard each season because after constant the wear and tear during sports, your mouth guard may not provide you adequate protection.
